Participating at a double degree program can be, if done correctly, an amazing experience for students, as well as for the home and host institutions. In addition to improving career prospects, and building professional networks, the intent is to enhance what is already offered at the home institution by incorporating new academic or research experience, allowing the student to complete a program at both institutions.
In addition to the meeting academic and other requirements of both institutions, the student is exposed to the contradictions, similarities, unknowns, differences, and everything in between the extremes of a knowledge spectrum. It is the decisions and approaches of the supervisors together that inform and guide the student into exploring their studies and research. While institutions take care of the logistical aspects of the program, the action resides in the learning process the student is exposed to.
